The Four Must-Have Stages For Trauma Recovery

Unfortunately, many trauma sufferers believe that they've effectively managed through their trauma on their own by "putting it behind them," repressing, or ignoring the event(s) all together. And while this may seem like a logical solution on the surface, it rarely works.

In time:

  • They experience feelings such as, depression, anxiety, joylessness, and the like.
  • In addition to other symptoms, they may also have repeated intrusive "flashbacks" about the traumatic event(s), which is a condition called, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, or PTSD.

Simply put, trauma sufferers shouldn't go it alone. Rather, they should seek help from a qualified therapist who can guide them through the four stages of recovery.
