"Delight” comes from the Latin for entice. This month, let yourself be enticed, charmed, transported. What enchants you? Reveling in the beauty of lush gardens in bloom? Savoring a fresh-from-the-oven macaroon? Watching a puppy take its first wobbly steps? Listening to Yo-Yo Ma play Bach? Nature, food, music, art…each of us has a list of what enthralls us. Be guided by yours.

Set Your Intention

Ours is a world of infinite wonder and delight. Wherever I look, I’m enchanted. I appreciate beauty everywhere I find it, including within myself.

Practice: Being Present

  • Delight is evanescent, best enjoyed in the moment while it’s fresh.
  • Mindfulness helps us be here now, whether sitting in mediation or out and about.
  • Each morning, take 10 to 15 minutes to practice being present. Sit quietly and let your awareness rest on the breath flowing in and out of your nostrils. When your mind wanders, as it will, gently return it to your breath.
